β‘οΈ One of the coolest & most unexpected places I have visited was on the small island of Curacao (pronounced KURE-e-sow). We had arranged a tour to a local art museum/space of local artists. We went through the series of small buildings that had some cool stuff inside and then walked out back and down a path that was pretty dense with trees to an opening where the Cathedral of Thorns stood... |
It is a very large structure of different rooms and halls all made out of thorns designed and constructed by Herman van Bergan over years and years. And he was sitting right there in his workshop making art. We sat down with him and chatted for 45 minutes. People who are passionate about things are very interesting :). β β Festive Fun!Even if you have not had the opportunity to visit Curacao, you have probably heard the word associated with liqueur. The island had a ton of bitter orange trees called laraha that back in the1600s they turned the aromatic oil from the bitter orange peels into what you can find worldwide as Curacao. β P.S.
